How to lose the argument against Islamism

With slogans such as this:

This guy is from Stop Islamization of America, a group whose leadership includes Pamela Geller, the author of the batshit crazy ‘Atlas Shrugged’ blog. Geller is a total crank who writes things like ‘it is well known that Obama allegedly was involved with a crack whore in his youth’. These kind of people do nothing but harm to those who are engaged in the important work of critiquing Islam and Islamic politics.

The slogan above is about as intelligent as saying ‘everything I wanted to know about the pro-life movement I learned from Eric Rudolph’, ‘everything I wanted to know about environmentalism I learned from Theodore Kaczynski’, or ‘everything I wanted to know about Israel I learned from Rabbi Yaacov Perrin’.

When slogans such as that in the photograph are used, this is a gift to Islamists who mask their theo-political agenda by claiming to be victims of supposedly endemic ‘Islamophobia’.

Thanks a lot, idiot.

I’m not sure that what you say, how you act or what or do has any bearing at all on whether or not islamists label you an islamophobe.

Islamists have actually gone to the extreme of manufacturing hate crimes in some U.S. states, and so even when they haven’t any reason or excuse to complain of endemic islamophobia, they’ll simply invent one.

Also, why shoud we endlessly critique islam? When islamists in Ontario proposed the estabishment of (*voluntary*) sharia tribunals two years ago, the secular Muslims who successfully nixed the initiative did not respond with a critique of Islam. Instead they vociferously opposed the attempt in a blunt, *bigoted* language that no islamist, or other, could ever misunderstand, and they did so knowing it would probably net them some death threats.

Why endlessly critique what is essentially just one big protection-racket?

I believe what happened in Toronto had the secular authorities (read postmodern leftist bureaucrats in government and positions of decision making) as their audience. With this group, no amount of Islamic/Mohammad criticism has absolutely any effect.

So there was no point in Islamic criticism by secular Muslims. Besides, it is very difficult for even a secular Muslim to criticize Islam honestly and effectively — there will be a self-identity crisis, among ther things.

The only hope for an Islamic reformation and enlightenment is criticism of Islam and Paedo Mohammad – and IMO it does not matter where it’s done and by whom it’s done.

Why is it encumbant upon the non-Muslim world to “reform” islam?

A reform of islam can only come about if the feet of the islamic world are held to the fire so that Muslims themselves beome so numerous, so backward, so impoverished and SO uncomfortable with their sefl-image, vis a vis the rest of the planet, that they begin to realise that islam, as well as its founder are far, FAR from perfect.

However, The West has responded, and this since at least The Crimean War, by handing out countless billions in aid, be it military, financial or technical, to various failed islamic states and various islamic dictators, and in doing has staved off the civilisational/existential crisis that would bring about a revolution in conscience, an existential crisis that would prompt muslims to engage in a little introspection and self-criticism; the very starting point of a reformation

We also stave off islam’s rendez-vous with its own history, its own flaws and imperfections, by importing tens of millions of muslims ( overflow population) thereby reducing those same economic/demographic pressures so necessary for that existential crisis to take place.

We also give them, millions in pounds so that they can tell us, as well as themselves, just how peachy-keen, up-to-date and progressive they are!

A muslim reformation can only come about by responsabilising the islamic world, but from what I see every Western policy with regards to the ummah runs completely counter to that goal.

If we in The West obstinately refuse to make the islamic world accountable for its defects, its intellectual, technological and scientific stagnation, its lack of basic human rights and democratic principles, if we constantly rescue them from every ( self-made) pickle they find themselves in, then how the heck is any reformation possible?
