ISRAEL HAS DONE NOTHING WRONG: The truth about the Mavi Marmara and the IDF

Sky News reports:

An emergency meeting of the UN Security Council has been held amid mass protests and international condemnation after Israel’s deadly attack on an international aid convoy.

Britain joined other countries in denouncing the dawn raid as “deplorable” with Palestinian leaders describing the bloodshed as a “massacre”.

There are international calls for a full, impartial investigation after Israeli commandos killed at least nine activists on board a Turkish ship leading the six-ship flotilla.  Following a 90-minute open meeting in New York, the UN Security Council has gone into closed-door consultations.

Exchanges between Turkish and Israeli representatives were held in the strongest possible terms.

Turkey’s Foreign Minister, Ahmet Davutoglu, called the raid “banditry and piracy” and “murder conducted by a state”.

But Israel’s deputy UN ambassador Daniel Carmon responded: “This flotilla was anything but a humanitarian mission.

“They are not peace activists … They cynically use the guise of humanitarian aid to send a message of hate and to implement violence.”

So, what really happened?

The facts in this case are that the ‘aid’ ships were given ample time to change their route under IDF escort and to deliver their ‘humanitarian aid’ to the people of Gaza once appropriate security checks of the cargo had been completed.

Instead, they refused.

When IDF troops entered the Mavi Marmara to enforce these requests, they were met with a violent assault from so-called ‘peace activists’, which included the use of live ammunition.

If you’re interested in getting to the facts behind the world media and leftist hysteria surrounding the IDF operation against a shipload of terrorist supporters, start at the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, which has a detailed account of what really happened, and includes video footage.

Early Monday morning (31 May), IDF naval forces intercepted six ships attempting to break the naval blockade of the Gaza Strip. This happened after numerous warnings from Israel and the Israel Navy that were issued prior to the action. The Israel Navy requested the ships to redirect toward Ashdod where they would be able to unload their aid material which would then be transferred over land after undergoing security inspections.

During the boarding of the Mavi Marmara, the demonstrators onboard attacked the IDF naval personnel with live fire and light weaponry including knives and clubs.

Read on.

Here are some videos illustrating the reality of the operation:

Demonstrators use violence against Israeli Navy Soldiers attempting to board ship:

Ron Ben-Yishai at Ynet News notes the two real errors made by Israel in this case:

It appears that the error in planning the operation was the estimate that passengers were indeed political activists and members of humanitarian groups who seek a political provocation, but would not resort to brutal violence. The soldiers thought they will encounter Bilin-style violence; instead, they got Bangkok. The forces that disembarked from the helicopters were few; just dozens of troops – not enough to contend with the large group awaiting them.

The second error was that commanders did not address seriously enough the fact that a group of men were expecting the soldiers on the top deck. Had they addressed this more seriously, they may have hurled tear-gas grenades and smoke grenades from the helicopter to create a screen that would have enabled them to carry out their mission, without the fighters falling right into the hands of the rioters, who severely assaulted them.

Once again, the Palestinian leadership show themselves to be lying scum with their claim that this was a ‘massacre’ – just as they did about Jenin, and just as they and their leftist media puppets do on a regular basis with their bogus footage of supposed Israeli atrocities. Once again, the facts surrounding a case involving the IDF are being buried by a deluge of anti-Israel propaganda. And once again, the immediate instinct of ‘liberals’ and leftists is to side with supporters of terrorism instead of supporting the defensive actions of a democratic country.

fuck you and fuck your evidences against this incident! How can soldiers can attack to people who does not have a gun! Of course if you enter a person s house without getting permission, he will attack you to save himself coz it belongs to him! Israel as usual kills and put a white flag later on and says im sorry! This is not enough boss, not happening! Because of this incident i will hate Israel and Israel people till the end of my life! And the count of people who hate Israel is millions now after this incident from several countries! Swear on God, if you are face to face with me and defend Israel in this incident just about 1%. I would killllllll you!!!

    • Should anyone wish to contact this hysterical moron, his email address is: yalmac@hotmail.com.

And here is a video of him.

    • Manny says:

for emre: what are you talking about? A gun, a knife, metal balls, piece of metal … what’s the difference? They were totally armed, and they wanted to kill. Do you need a new pair of glasses, don’t you? Did you see the video properly?
You’re right when you talk about ‘somebody enters a person’s house’, that’s right. In fact, Hamas and Hezbollah enters Israeli’s State with rockets and bombs. And Israeli soldiers have to defend citizens and children. Don’t you agree?

  3. thescoundrel says:

While it is not the “politically correct” action the self-defense by the Israeli soldiers is justifiable. Oner of the flotilla organizers admitted in an AP interview the flotilla was more about breaking the blockade than it was a humanitarian mission. It seems evident that the flotilla organization wanted armed conflict in order to create propaganda.

  4. sackcloth and ashes says:

‘How can soldiers can attack to people who does not have a gun!’

That happens quite often when Turkish soldiers and jandarma go to work in Kurdistan.

‘course if you enter a person s house without getting permission, he will attack you to save himself coz it belongs to him!’

So you understand how the Greek Cypriots feel about 1974, then?

‘Swear on God, if you are face to face with me and defend Israel in this incident just about 1%. I would killllllll you!!!’

    So much for ‘peace protestors’.

  5. sackcloth and ashes says:

Oh, almost forgot, ‘emre’. It’s a bit hypocritical for your lot to squeal about civilian deaths, given that you tried to butcher all the Armenians in 1915.

    Jog on.

  6. Joe says:

if you enter a person s house without getting permission, he will attack you to save himself coz it belongs to him!’

So why did these morons attempt to enter into Israels house without permisson of the owner. Hmm????

If you interfere in another countries affairs then you should expect the real prospect that there will be consequences.

Attack another countries armed forces whilst in they are in the lawfull discourse of ensuring their people’s security. Then my friend you should not be to suprised should those consequenses prove to be fatal!!!

  7. “If you’re interested in getting to the facts behind the world media and leftist hysteria surrounding the IDF operation against a shipload of terrorist supporters, start at the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs website”

Start at the official military ministry of one of the factions involved; because they’re obviously going to be impartial…

P.S. Not having a dig at your general point; I did think that statement somewhat weak though.

    James

  8. I would have to say though that Israel would perhaps have greater moral authority in this if it was not collectively punishing the Palestinians with the blockade – regardless of the clearly suspect motives (I agree) of many (not all) of those aboard the ships.
